Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

Liverpool Packet takes five American traders in early voyage

Provoked by escalating American privateer action, Governor Sherbrooke began issuing provisional letters of marque allowing Nova Scotian vessels, such as the Liverpool Packet, to attack enemy merchant shipping.
