A dam has been built on the
reserve at Ingraham's river, and the water [?flows OR grows]
a tract of wild meadow on the Indian land;
trespasses are also committed, and disputes have
arisen that can only be settled by making a
survey of the land.
In all these particulars I beg leave
to seek the aid and direction of the Government
with every desire on my part to protect and
assist the unfortunate people under my charge.
I have the honor to be
Sir
Your Most Obedient
humble Servant
A. Gesner
