We have the pleasure of acknowledging the receipts of 25 Barrels of Indian Meal and rye flour sent down by his Excellency for our distribution among the distressed in our Settlements early in the Month of August last.
We have the honor of offering His Excellency through your Honors Medium the sincere thanks not only of those [poor?] distressed who shared in the distribution of the Mead but also, of all among us who rejoice in the alleviation of the misery of the distressed. We all view this early token of His Excellency's benevolence as a prelude to a happy administration while His Excellency remains and the helm of our Provincial government, which is sincerely wished may be of a long standing.
