African Nova Scotians in the Age of Slavery and Abolition

Una Gibson, Shelburne

Una Gibson was likely descended from James and Patty Gibson, both 23, who came to the Shelburne area in 1783. According to the "Book of Negroes" they came from Norfolk, Virginia with two children aged one and three.
