536. James Clarke to Gideon White, in receipt of letter. He has delivered White's letter to the Governor. "I remarked to the Governor that your Expectations were well founded of which His Excellency appeared sensible but at present has determined nothing - He wishes he had something more suited to your Merits as well as Mr. Ogden's - The Candidates are yourself, Mr. Ogden, Capt. McKinnon, Mr. Brinley, & Dr. Burns." Holograph.
