AFFIDAVIT
IN THE MATTER of the application for the Registration of the Birth of Howard JosephMacDonald
Born at Sydney in the County of Cape Breton
That Howard JosephMacDonald Whose Birth is sought to be registered was
born at Sydney Cape Breton County on August 25, 1920
My knowledge of the fact and date of such Birth is based on the following Circumstances:
My mother Lottie (Cogswell) MacDonald was separated from her husband, Duncan MacDonald; she entered into common-law marriage with Angus MacKinnon, but retained her name of Lottie Cogswell MacDonald and her children bore their mother's name of MacDonald. When my brother Howard Joseph MacDonald was a young child he went as a foster child to the home of Mr. Levi Sugg, and entered school under the name of Howard Sugg. This knowledge is confirmed by items of evidence hereto annexed. My mother's maiden name was Charlotte Philomena Cogswell, but was commonly called "Lottie".
Keyword Search looks for the "term" (one word or number works best) you type throughout the whole record. It is less accurate than the advanced search but it does let you search for age, religion, mother's maiden name, etc. if transcribed.
