appeared to be the case, as the young children seemed almost naked. Their numbers on an average will be about five in every family.
I hope Sir, you will excuse the liberty I have taken, in mentioning these circumstances to you, not doubting but upon representation to His Excellency (which I hope you'll make) he will in his humanity order a supply of blankets, [strouding?] and Indian corn, to relieve the extreme wants of about one hundred Indians, that I have every reason to think will winter in or near this settlement, on account of the small pox being in the neighbourhood of Antigonish.
