Members (men only) celebrated the festival of England’s patron saint with a banquet featuring an abundance of food, music and toasts. Curiously their salutes to King and Country did not mention Nova Scotia’s privateers, perhaps because many navy officers disliked the competition for prizes which privateers posed.
