The Prat Sisters: Free Spirits of the 1890s

"Exhibition and sale of bookbinding, leather work and etchings by the late Evelyn Hunter Nordhoff and her pupils"

The exhibition included several books bound by Minnie Prat and a substantial number of leather work items by May Rosina Prat. 115 East 56th Street was the address of Nordhoff's Elephant Bindery in New York City. Minnie and May and other former pupils of Nordhoff kept the bindery going after Nordhoff's death on November 2, 1898. As the exhibition included calendars for 1899, with etchings by Miss Nordhoff, it took place in 1898.

Date: November 1898
