To His Excellency Sir Colin Campbell K.C.B Lieutenant
Governor and Commander in Chief &c &c &c

The humble petition of Francis Toney Native Indian for himself and others.
Humbly sheweth that petioner [petitioner] hath a family of Ten persons depending upon him for support, that there are several other families of his Tribe residing on the same Encampment amounting in all to between thirty and forty persons _ that themselves their Squaws and Children are suffering much from cold and the want of provisions there being very little to be obtained by hunting; and the resident Inhabitants having nothing to spare petitioner humbly prays that your Excellency will be pleased to take the case into consideration, and afford such relief and assistance during the winter, as may be by Your Excellency deemed proper and your petioner for himself and others of his Tribe will ever give thanks.
