Sir

For the information of His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, I would beg leave to state through you, that I have received eighteen shillings and sixpence on account of the potatoes sent last spring for the relief of the Sherbrooke settlers. His Excellency I believe is already aware that, understanding.
The potatoes cost a shilling and ten pence at Halifax, and two pence freight, I took a note of hand from each individual at the rate of two shillings for bushel for the quantity apportioned,
