"Salvation Army serving coffee and fruit to miners between shifts at Moose River"

Moose River Mine disaster, April 1936. These people were unable to drive the twenty miles from the main highway to Moose River because the dirt roads had been made impassable by the rain and traffic, so they walked to the site carrying large pots of coffee and donuts for the rescue workers.
