Men in the Mines

A History of Mining Activity in Nova Scotia, 1720-1992

Letter, S.G. Archibald to M.B. Almon

Letter dated Albion Mines, 10 September 1829. Writing to Mather Byles Almon, in Halifax, regarding venetian blinds, service bells and wallpaper patterns for the dining and drawing rooms of Mount Rundell, the new residence at Albion Mines (Stellarton), for the resident agent or general manager of the General Mining Association, and his family. Since the agent was coming out from England, arrangements were being made in his absence ("Mrs. [Juston ?] would prefer a different pattern of paper for each room"); and both Almon and his wife were providing assistance in interior decoration, from Halifax.
