up and died 36 hours after arrival at the house. This baby's twin brother lost its life in the house and father and mother watched their house burn down with the knowledge that their child was in the flames. The father lost his mother, their sisters, a brother and his father is still fighting for his life in a Hfx hospital, not knowing that practically all his family is gone.

[Crossed out] But this is one of the ordinary stories of which your might have heard many. And yet

When the husband returned to Truro from a trip to Halifax about 5 days after the accident and found his father alive, despite his critical condition, he was a happy seemingly as though the explosion had never occurred and some rare bit of fortune had come to him.

Regarding role played by Truro in assisting Halifax, "ten times as many families could have been put up in private homes, for every one was willing to do their part" - stories of survival and death.
