Mr. T. S. Rogers,
Halifax Relief Commission,
Halifax, N.S.
Dear Sir:-
We are in receipt of your kind favor of December 18th, regarding the history of the Halifax disaster written by Doctor Archibald McMechan.
We would be unable to give you a proposition for publishing this work, or secure a price for manufacturing the same from our printers, without first seeing the manuscript. We would be glad if you will kindly have to work submitted to us and we shall give it careful consideration.
We note that you would take 500 copies for distribution, and would like to know how these would be distributed, whether through the trade or given away to members of Parliament, as this would affect our sale of the book if we undertook to publish the same.
We shall be glad to hear from you further in the matter.
Yours truly,
McCLELLAND, GOODCHILD AND STEWART, Limited.
Per Plall
M.
Acknowledgement of the above letter and requesting the manuscript.
