Feb. 22nd, 1918

4 p.m. Interview with Dr. McMeachan re compilation of a History of the Disaster.
Dr. MacMechan stated the present position of the work, and the basis under which the matter had been taken namely, a verbal arrangement with Mr. MacGillivray. After some discussion it was finally decided that a temporary phamphlet should not be issued, but that Dr. MacMechan should see if arrangements could be made with some first-class publishing house for bringing out the first volume of the official publication some time in the Fall of this year.
Dr. MacMechan to report to the Commission further in regard to the matter.

March 8th, 1918

Read memo of Prof. A. MacMechan's re History of the Disaster. It was decided to write Prof. MacMechan that the Commission did not deem it advisable to have a Pamphlet issued at the present tie, but thought it desirable to have Volume One of the work ready by next Fall.
