Fund by distributing 1000 cards, sold tickets for Military Tournament, helped on Tag Day for French Red Cross -- fifteen members taking out teams, others distributing cards for advertising and many contributing to the luncheon; they sold tickets for dancing at the War Trophy Exhibit; filled Xmas stockings and distributed cards advertising the Victory War Loan.
"The most important work of the Chapter has been done since December 6th, 1917, when Halifax was devastated by one of the wort disasters in the history of Canada. Space and time will not allow details but the following summary will give some idea of what has been done by the members.
"One acted as Chairman of the Red Cross Relief, another as Vice Chairman, the latter, with the assistance of three other members--- one acting as Secretary, was in charge of all the medical supplies at the Technical College; the other with the assistance of five members, one acting as Secretary, was in charge of the clothing sent in for relief work at the Technical College and from this supplied 637 outfits to wounded in hospitals and 436 outside refugees.
"Two members did all the necessary buying to supplement the clothing for this Committee.
"At the suggestion of our Regent an I. O. D. E. was established under the principal chapter, primarily, for unclaimed children; but there being few of these, it took over the wounded children to relieve the hospitals, having as many as twenty-six at one time. Forty-five members have taken their turn in helping at this home.
"Another member sheltered seven refugees for ten days and four nurses for a week; sterilized all dressings for the hospitals and Dispensary; also opened her house to those who could come and make surgical dressings; ten members helped at this work.
"Two helped at the Old Ladies Home. One acted as Convener of Relief Work at the Council House and twelve others helped with sewing. Four helped at St. Paul's Hall five made up garments at home, four
