Adjutant.
1st Regt. C.G.A., Citadel.

Sir:

Below will be found an account of the work done by me in connection with the recent disaster.
On December 7th I reported for duty at the Citadel at 11 o'clock in the morning. In the afternoon I went down to the Union Jack Club and we boarded up all the windows, both up and down-stains. Before leaving there at about 6 p.m. the morning of the 8th I spent at the Citadel and in the afternoon I worked on windows, etc. at home. The following day I reported for duty at 9 a.m. and was held in the Hill until relieved at 4 p.m. At 5.30 p.m. I was called back to the orderly and told I was for duty that night. At 1 o'clock in the morning we went patrols out all over the North End and centre of the city. and relieved the 63rd patrols. From then until daybreak we spent walking around visiting our patrols which we called into the Citadel at 8 a.m.
At 4 p.m. same day I reported again at the orderly room, but as it was very stormy we could not do anything.
The following day I did electrical work at Citadel and in the afternoon relieved Mr. Haliburton of a squad of me which were working in the devastated area. I took the me to Flinn's Block and after working in the ruins for some time we found two bodies. One was that of a woman, while the other was a little baby about two years old.
The next afternoon was spent in the orderly room, working on attestation papers, and I remained at the Citadel until after 10 o'clock, waiting for further word as to what to do.
At 10 o'clock the next morning I returned to Connaught Battery where I have been ever since.
