Sir:

Below is an account of work done by me in connection with recent disaster, as requested.

Dec. 6. Left Connaught at 11 a.m. in my car. Met sufferers at Arm Bridge and took some along. (11.30 a.m.) At 1140 heard that my family were mot hurt--house seriously shaken etc. 11.45 started to drive wounded people wherever they wanted to go. Continued until 12.30 p.m. when I reported at Citadel. Told by Capt. Allen to "carry on!" and and went to V. G. Hospital where I got wounded patients to drive home. Continued until about 3 p.m. when I reported at Citadel.

3.05 p.m. took Col. Almon the the North End where he left me. While waiting for him I helped soldiers get bodies out of ruins near St. Joseph's School.

Returned with Col. Almon and two or three people crazed by shock and loss of relatives.

4.15 reported at Headquarters. Was told by C. S. M. to keep an eye on soldiers who were not on duty, etc.

4.30 used my car to drive wounded people to various hospitals and take back others to refuge situations. Secured material to fix broken windows in our own and some friends' homes.

8.30 p.m. went home and got something to eat, and helped close up windows, etc.

11.30 p.m. Received message to report at Connaught Battery for duty 2nd boat on the 7th.

Dec 7th went to Connaught Battery. Remained until 13th.

Dec. 13th reported to Citadel. on duty. On with Mr. Esther until 10.30 p.m.

Dec. 14th reported to Citadel, on duty 8.15 a.m. In charge of party
