NOTES RE DENTAL CORPS ACTICITIES.
HALIFAX EXPLOSION,
DECEMBER,1917.
Thursday, Dec 6th, immediately after the explosion the whole staff of the Canadian Army Dental Corps in Halifax, Kentville [handwritten insertion] numbering 30 [?] were detailed for the emergency relief work under the direction of the A.D.M.S. and the O.C. Camp Hill Hospital.
From the 6th to the 9th they rendered valuable services in first aid, assisting in Surgical operations and dressings, administering anaesthetics, guard and transportation duties.
From the 10th to the 17th, Dental Officers with Orderlies were, detailed to the various wards of the Camp Hill and Halifax Military Hospitals and their services were offered to the Victoria General and Pine Hill Hospital,for prophylaxtic and jaw fracture treatment.
An Army Dental surgery equipment was installed in the Halifax [handwritten insertion] Ladies College and an Officer with an orderly detailed for services with the Maine Hospital Unit, located there.
Captain H.L. Mitchener C.A.D.C. of Kentville Sanitorium was detailed to the Nova Scotia Hospital on the first day of the explosion, rendering valualbe [valuable] services in first aid administration or anaesthetics and general office and ddispensary [dispensary] work until
