Jacob St., and south on Brunswick, St., She passed the Market Building, where a poultry show was being held at the time of the disaster, "Every rooster in that place was crowing". She went up Sackville St. and down South Park to Spring Garden Road, down Spring Garden Road to LeMarchant St. to Mrs. Meehan's house. While talking to Mrs. Meehan, men came along with their heads bandaged up. It was then about 10.30. She went down South St., and there were cases in the Victoria General Hospital then. When the second order came to evacuate the houses she went to the Golf Links. There she held a baby for a [woman?] who went back to her house to dress. When the second order came a nurse in the V.G.H. [Vicotria General Hospital] asked Miss Pickles ( ) [blank] what they would do. Miss Pickles said "Stay where you are, if we go - we go." When the woman came back for her baby, Miss Thomas walked on down to the Arm Bridge, comforting people along the way as well as she could. "I didn't do much". Found a girl with her shin all cut and bleeding and her brother with a "great hole in the back of his neck." The girl was holding a pillow against the wound in her brother's neck, The pillow was soaked in blood. Miss Thomas took off the blood soaked pillow casing and found a place on the pillow not quite so wet as the rest of it. This she placed against the wound.

Tells about Broderick of the Halifax Fire Department.
