dislocation?" Col Oxley replied "None whatever." The best proof of the staff's afficiancy [sic] was in the way the Christmas business was handled. This began early in December and was double what it was in normal times. On t5he inspection/official in January 1918 the inspector reported that he never found the office in better condition. The Post-Master resented this criticism of the Herald to the effect that he should " get rid of barnacles" in the office. The staff also resented the criticism. Col. Oxley took no credit to himself but praised the devotion of the staff to their duties.
