children answered sensibly - Mrs Hinch sd. [said] she crawled thro' cinders for a city block -- had been bringing up soup -

Went to V. G. H. left-hand side - "Can you wash cuts?" -"Go in & get to work"
- children - slight cuts on head - worked two hours - house-surgeon poured in iodine - to open wound in woman's neck - lived in Willow St. == caused great pain - still bleeding - "simply covered with blood & dirt" -- all dazed (3) mother & 2 children -

Dart. - had no food - washing, dressing, putting the children to bed -

fed soldiers about 10 p.m. - helping in every way - soldiers there & helping - one man cooking - had to run round by candle - night [?] - glass not proper gathered up - coat to walk on -"Not exactly Sir W. Raleigh" - God home to Mrs. Hussey's about 12 p. m.
