had come from down town - went to Mrs. Hussey: I took charge. [?] John turned back from Studley and went to Gold Links - [?] - came back to Studley -
(pupils all in back yard - not allowed in for two hours - none of the children badly hurt) -

Danger over about 12 [?] at Prof. Moore - soldier running, told us that the danger - chanting as he ran.

Put on warm clothing - sitting-room crowded - message from Hussey to Mrs. H. - & E. Nichols - 50 or 60 beds - sent to the V. G. H. to tell they accommodate 50 people: 3 class-room - 13 children in nursery - hot soup, down - stairs - served all afternoon - injured - some had not be received any treatment - woman with cut arms, cut about body - about 40 - bruised - only one eye left - bandaged about eyes - "dragged through dirt" - girl 8: sat without saying one word - cut open to the bone - centre of face - boy both arms & legs broken & badly cut - " cut & cut & cut" - washed wounds - answered
