Halifax, N.S.
Stayed there till three p.m. Went to Camp Hill and gave patients their supper. Hospital crowded. "Had to walk on the edge of the mattresses." Foudn the people "so thankful". Got home to Edward St. about 9 p.m. Saturday Deceber 8th -- got to Camp Hill about 9 a.m. with Velma Moore spread bread and butter. The bread was piled in racks around the panry and cut with bread knives. A bread-cutter was tried but worked only a short time. The butter was salted and spread on the bread with a paint-brush. If the butter was carefully watched and not allowed to stand too long on the stove it spread well and tasted well. The bread was cut in fairly thin slices and the slices divided, piled up in plates At first there was wastage through the inexperience of those feeding the patients, who gave them more than they could eat. Afterwards a patient was given only one slice at a time. There was no waste. Expressed admiration for Miss Ayer, dietitian, who got no rest till Saturday. Her feet badly swollen. Never lost her sweetness of temper or voice.

Student at Dalhousie College, details of events at the School for the Blind.
