HALIFAX DISASTER RECORD OFFICE
ARCHIBALD MACMECHAN, F.R.S.C.
DIRECTOR

HALIFAX, N.S.

Thing came down on him". He was pinned down, badly cut about the face and shoulders, (he had glass removed as lately as last month), his knee was put out of joint. He crawled out from under the wreckage, pulled his knee into place, and rescued his wife and children (boy and girl) from his house next door. Then he got a woman out of the store. There were two others in the store, but the fire got too strong from him. HIs little girl lost one eye and is very badly scarred. The boy is all right although he was ill at the time of the disaster. Wallace himself is not yet fully recovered from his injuries.

Resident, 276 Robie Street. [MacMechan erroneously wrote the names as Myers]
