also a little hand clutching a rosary, which crumbled when it was touched. While he was telephoning, soldiers removed these remains to Cruikshank's Morgue, whence they were taken to Chebucto Road School Morgue. The labels were lost and though Mooney searched the Morgue several times, nothing resembling them could be located. Sunday, December 16th, Harry Mooney went to the ruins again with several friends and dug in them. Found a large quantity of charred remains. Guarded them for several days until he could obtain transportation. Red tape prevented Snows from taking them Mooney secured a team himself, and took them to the Morgue. They were finally all placed in one coffin, and buried from the surviving Mooneys' new home, 134 Edward St. December 24th.
Tom Mooney, the brother who was hurt, lay unconscious on the sidewalk. He revived three times [xxx] -each time endeavouring to go back for his mother.
At the time of the explosion Mrs. Mooney, Jim and Susie-the three who were killed, and Annie, who had just returned from the Kentville Sanatorium, were watching the Patricia fire engine pass. Annie went downstairs to the dining-room, with Tom and Mary, thus saving her life. There was a big [xxx] flash, and everything fell around her. Annie's arm was hurt, and she couldn't help herself. Tom was knocked underneath the sink, and Mary driven underneath the dresser. A faint glimmer of light through the broken wall gave Tom hope and strength. He got to his feet- "He doesn't know how". Everything in the house was "twirled from back to front". Tom gave a woman one of the portieres to wrap about her child. In spite of her maimed [xxxx] arm, Annie pulled Mary out. They
