Personal Testimony of Mrs. Robert Laing, Harvey St.,
Her aunt, Miss Richardson was an inmate of the Old Ladies Home, She was in bead at the time of the explosion. ( N. B., She is in here eighties) She saw the ceiling was about to fall upon her, so she ran to her closet where she sat upon a trunk for half-an-hour. Then she dressed hastily, went out on the street without notifying anyone in the home and wandered several blocks toward town. She had decided to return to the Home, when a soldier ordered her to go to the Commons. She did so, standing there for several hours, and finally finding her way to Mrs. Laing's house, none the worse for her experience, although she had not been out-doors for many months.
