Case of Ronayne, John M., 34 1/2 North St.
Telephoned to Chronicle Office at 8:45 a. m. December that he would be late, as there was a steamer coming up the harbor on fire and he was somewhere past the overhead bridge when the explosion took place. His companion was blown into a boggy field, dazed but unhurt. Went back and found Ronayne in the road, moaning, half his face as if scalded with steam.
