CHRONICLE BUILDING

HALIFAX, N. S.

Some time later he noticed that the patient had slipped off his pillow and was choking again. In putting him up Cock noticed that he flinched and found that there was a piece of glass as long as his finger, embedded in his shoulder. The man never recovered consciousness and died about midnight. Mrs. MacKenzie, wife of the Presbyterian minister at Elmsdale, recognized the man. Sometime afterwards, Mr. Cock was able to inform friends who were looking for him, of this man's identity. He was sitting at his desk and overheard the conversation. "I don't know what I shall do if you won't help me."

Communicated personally by the Rev. Mr. Cock, H. D. R. O. March 21st, 1918.
