could get a train. He must have been a stranger as he said ["Bedf] "Bedford, six miles out". Knew then that she would probably have to walk home. Went up North St. along Gottingen to Bloomfield. Going along Gottingen "everybody's hall stove was on the front door-step". Walked along Bloomfield to Kempt Road and out Kempt Road. Passed the Cotton Factory fire. Went out Kempt Road as far as the Railway Bridge. A countryman in an express-waggon overtook her there and she drove to Bedford with him.
