I Did Enjoy : the Enterprising life of E.D. Davison : His Diary / edited and annotated Catherine Pross.  Catherine Pross, 2014. 255 pages : illustrations ; 24 cm.

Nova Scotia Archives Library - FC2323.1 D38 P76 2014 - Open Shelf

Lumber baron, gold miner, politician, inventor, self-taught mechanical engineer, family man, generous benefactor, and candid diarist — E.D. Davison was a keen observer and an acutely enthusiastic participant in all aspects of life on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in the 1800s. He revelled in the new technology of steam engines, water-powered turbines, electricity, telephones and trains, while paying homage to the old way of life he knew growing up in Mill Village. Author Catherine Pross worked as a librarian at the Nova Scotia Public Archives. There she discovered parts of the diary of Edward Davison, her ancestor.
