Daughters of Shickaneckto) if his Hon.r ould Accept of him as an Inhabitant and Subject of the Crown of Great Britain he would Swear Allegiance to his Majesty and prove truely faithfull; And being in Expectation of his family from Quebeck, he would with his Honour's permission Settle with his father in Law at Shickanecto

     The Honourable L.t Governor of the Province having [167] Having Arrived here the Ins.t from Canso Acquainted the Board y.t he would have called the Council Sooner, but y.t being hitherto disappointed through the Indisposition of Some of y.e Gentlemen he Judged proper to lay before them his Commis.n for being L.t Governor of this his Majestys Province of Nova Scotia; a Coppy of his Excelly General Philipps's Commission for Governor of Said Province, a Coppy of the Generals Instructions and Additional Instructions, as also a Coppy of the Earl of Orkneys Instructions for the Governm.t of Virginia, which being Read with all due Solemnity, the Honourable Lieu.t Governor of the Province asked the Advice of the Board he Should proceed for want of a Quorum; Which being Considered
