Att a Council held by order of the Honble Lieut Governor Armstrong at his own House in His Majestys Garrison of Annapolis Royal, on ffryday the 7 th January 1731/2

The Secretary acquainted the Board that his Honour the Lieut Governor of the Province was out of order, and could not be present, and that there being Several people Come from Menis, who had presented him with Petitions, He orderd the Same to be laid Befo the Board, for their advice and Opinion thereon

The petitions ot Michell Boudrot and others of Menis praying for a Settlement at Chipdody |

Upon which the people being Called in, The Petition of Michel Boudrot, and that of James Legers In Behalf of his Son &c, Both praying for a Plantation at Chippody were Read, and three Certifycates In favour of Said Boudrots being the first possessor of the Plantation in Dispute were also Rea With a Declaration of Will Denys In favour of Leger, and Governor Cosbys Permitt for his Son to go and work upon his Habitation all Upon ffile

Then the Petition of Reny & ffrancois Leblancs Against Antoin Landry, as also five Certifycates to Support their Pretentions to a Plantation at Chippody, taken possession of by Said Landry, and their farther Reasons advanced in writing by Mr Cottna who appear'd for the Said Leblancs as are upon ffile

There were also Read the Said Landrys Petition, with four Certifycates in Support of his pretensions as Upon ffile

The Several partys being Calld and Examined about what they had further to Say, they were ordered to Withdraw [252]

Then the Secretary having (as Mr Boudrot had pled an Order of the deceas'd Governor Doucett as by His Petition)
