Photostatic copy. Marc Lescarbot was a lawyer, poet and historian. In 1607-08, he accompanied Poutrincourt to Port Royal. Lescarbot's Histoire de la Nouvelle-France was published in Paris in 1609 and included the original of this map. A second edition was published in 1611 and this was followed by an enlarged and revised edition in 1618. Lescarbot's Les muses de la Nouvelle France, a small volume of poems dealing with the New World, was also published in Paris in 1609. Copy of Champlain Society Map.
