Nova Scotia. Judicial Council

The Judicial Council was established in 1980 to investigate complaints against a judge of the Provincial Court alleging misbehaviour, neglect of duty or inability to perform duties; to discipline or suspend a judge upon such terms and conditions as the Judicial Council deems appropriate; and to recommend to Cabinet whether a judge should be removed further to the provisions of the Provincial Court Act. The Judicial Council is chaired by the Chief Justice of Nova Scotia and has all the powers of a public inquiry.
