Know all here by there presents that I William Cochran of the township of Windsor and County of Hants Nova Scotia Doctor in Divinity am held and firmly bound to John Griffin of Windsor aforesaid (a man of colour) in the sum of fifty pounds, lawful money of Nova Scotia, to be paid to the said John Griffin or his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or (illegible), for the trees payment whereof I find myself and my heirs executors and administrators firmly by these presents sealed with my seal dated the first day of February in the fifty sixty year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King, Defender of the faith and so forth, and in the years of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen
The condition of this obligation is such that whereas James (illegible) paid (illegible) Cochran of Halifax in the Province aforesaid hath executed a certain died, bearing date the day of there presents, and converging
