view page 1 2

Date: 1888

Petroglyph tracings N: Nondescript and unclassified #43. 2 negatives. The tracings bear a red 'X' mark which indicates that they were found at the Port Medway River. Marion Robertson's Rock Drawings of the Micmac Indians interpret this petroglyph as "moose and Indians, one Indian on horseback... a puzzling picture cut in the rocks after the arrival of the white man and his horse. Lower part of the picture marred with overdrawings of figures, boat, and a shaman's wigwam marked with the bare branches of the tree."
