George Creed - Mi'kmaq Petroglyphs

Tracing of a petroglyph of what may be plans for a fortification

Date: 1888

Petroglyph tracings N: Nondescript and unclassified #1. 4 negatives. The tracings bear a red 'X' mark which indicates that they were found at the Port Medway River. Marion Robertson's Rock Drawings of the Micmac Indians interpret this petroglyph as "the ground plan of a fortiication, perhaps a Micmac stronghold or one wheich they supported, indicated by what appears to be a row of wigwams."
