Petition to Kempt: Petitioners are merchants of Halifax. They ask a grant of certain lands held by George Taylor, merchant of Arichat, and of land owned by John Cameron. Taylor purchased the lands, sometimes at extravagant prices. He was indebted to petitioners for 1600 who foreclosed the mortgage in 1824, and bought in the lands at Chancery sale to prevent loss. Some of these lands are held by lease only. Schedule of lots. Plan. Agreement of sale from Ranald McKinnon and Henry Taylor, merchant.
