Cape Breton Land Petitions 1787-1843
McCaskill, Murdo & others. – 1825 – Cape Breton
Petition to Wallace: Petitioner is a native of Scotland, age 40, is married and has two children. He purchased 100 acres at Antigonish for a mill site. His saw and grist mills were twice swept away by the flooding of the river. He now asks a lot on the south side of St. Patrick's Channel. John McCaskill, a native of Scotland, age 60, is a widower with seven children. John Ferguson, also of Scotland, is 55 years old, married and has four children. The two latter ask land between that applied for by the first petitioner and the narrows. Note:
