Watson, William – 1821 – Cape Breton

Petition to Kempt: Petitioner was born in New York, where his family lost their property by adherence to the British cause, is 46 years old, has lived in Cape Breton ever since it was a British settlement. He has a wife and nine children. He held a lot in the N.W. Arm of Spanish River which he sold and removed to the River Baddeck. He asks the lot formed by the Forks of the River. Note: Petitioner is of Scottish parents, now very respectable settlers in this island. He has had to relinquish a farm for the purchase of which he could not complete his engagements. Warrant to Crawley: Lot in Forks of River Baddeck.
