Petition to Nepean, 1812: Petitioner is a missionary teacher, protestant. He emigrated from Scotland to Nova Scotia nine years before, and was called to the River Inhabitants the preceding November. He asks lot 18 on the west side of the river. Report of Crawley to Smyth: 248 acres, lot 18, west side of River Inhabitants. Plan. Caveat: 1st warrant 1811, 2nd, 1812, caveat, 1813. A certificate of character from the Protestant settler of the River Inhabitants, to contradict anything that may have been said to prejudice the character of Donald McDonald, preacher and teacher in the community.
