Ernest Buckler: A Remarkable Nova Scotia Novelist

Ernest Buckler wrote the text for Hans Weber's book of photograph. McClelland and Stewart Limited published the book in 1973. Although the photographer included images around Nova Scotia, a significant number are Sober Island and area where the Weber family had a summer cottage. The back dust-jacket shows a man chopping wood. The inside front dust-jacket notes ''The land is by turn joyous and bleak, rugged and cultivated, lonely and populous. The people are farmers, fishermen, urbanites and rural dwellers. The changing moods and many faces of both are reflected in these pages.''
