Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

Slow news of Peace means two more months for war

It took two months for the news of peace with America to reach Halifax. In the interim war continued, with tragic results for Nova Scotians. In January of 1815 the privateer Rolla sank in a storm off New England, drowning all 42 of her crew.
