Spoils of War: Privateering in Nova Scotia

Sir John Sherbrooke recaptures captured Loyal Sam

Once a prize had been taken by a privateer, a small crew would be put on board to bring the capture back to home port. Often these vessels would be recaptured by the other side, resulting in a loss of both income and manpower.
