637. Foreman, Grassie & Co. to their agents Gracie & Cox, in receipt of letter. The Admiral refuses to give the shot they want, because that size is too much used by the King's ships. Forsyth, Smith & Co. are sending the gunpowder. "Pork, Butter & Bread are scarce & high, we shall endeavor to secure the quantity order'd from the sale of the Stores of some Prize Vessels - We hope Captn. Negust will arrive in time with the Bread, as it is very scarce & dear in Halifax...Mr. Campbell will inform you on what day the condemnation of the Prize will be, after which we shall advertize her for Sale, but you must observe that you cannot bring the Goods to Auction until you receive from this, the Decree of the Court, and an order to the Marshall to deliver the cargo into the hands of the Agents." Signed.
