"It grieves me to find our friend Hales memorial is thrown under the Table of your Honorable House let your friendship my Dear Friend stimulate You to exert every nerve to recover it above board again, Justice and Gratitude ought to be the leading features of every Country to an Individual who like him has stood forth with their Purse to advance the Public Interest for malgré whatever may be said to the Contrary I and You must know and maintain that the Light House is of General benefit to the Province and without the Advance made by Our friend the Whole would have gone to Ruin in a few Years,".
