477. Chas. Morris to Gideon White re business of the court of Vice-Admiralty.  Customs collectors have "the sole Management of the sales & making up the accounts of all Prizes Condemned. But they are first to request of the Court a Warrant appointing proper persons to appraise all Vessels and Cargoes Condemned as forfeited to his Majesty; before any Sale can be made by them." Holograph.
