307. Lt. B. Meighen to Gideon White, in receipt of letter. He arrived from Manchester recently and reports on conditions there. "I am sorry to acquaint you that we had a great many Disputes amongst our Gentry, Brownrigg & Cunningham against McDonald & ye Doctr. but, they are now on very good terms; the Men are making some noise about the Bricks; they will be satisfied if they go as part of the forge; ...His Excellency the Govr. has now given us £140 to purchase 40 M feet of Boards."
